The short version: some links on PrudentDeals.com are, or may become, affiliate links. If you click one and buy something, we may earn a commission. You pay the same price either way.
What is an affiliate link?
An affiliate link is a special link to a store's website. When you buy through it, the store (or an affiliate network working for the store) knows you came from us and may pay us a small commission. It doesn't add anything to your price.
Where we use them
- Our Deals page.
- Product links in our buying guides.
- Occasionally, product mentions elsewhere on the site.
Some of those links currently go straight to the official store with no tracking, because we haven't joined that store's program yet. We may replace them with affiliate links later. Either way, this disclosure applies.
Who we work with
We may join affiliate programs run by retailers, brands and affiliate networks (for example CJ, Awin, Impact or Amazon Associates).
Our own products
Pine Fever Supply Co. is our own apparel brand, and the Prudent Deals Arcade games are made by us. When we mention them, we're promoting our own stuff, and we make money when you buy our apparel.
How we choose what to feature
- Commissions don't pick the winner. We pick products based on official specs, prices, warranties and who they suit, and we'd make the same picks with or without a commission.
- We don't sell placement. Brands can't pay to be included in our guides or to get a better spot.
- No fake reviews. We don't publish made-up testimonials or ratings. Unless a guide says otherwise, we haven't personally tested the products; we compare the information the makers publish, and we label the makers' own claims.
- Prices change. Prices are shown "as of" the date we checked. The price at the store is the one that counts.
Why we tell you this
The U.S. Federal Trade Commission's Endorsement Guides ask websites to clearly disclose financial relationships that readers might not expect. We'd tell you anyway. That's part of being prudent.
